ZixGateway with Cisco Technology Showcases the Strength of Partnerships

Earlier this year in March, we announced a unique partnership between ZixCorp and Cisco. Once competitors in the email encryption market, we saw a unique opportunity to join forces, meet evolving customer demands and develop a mutually beneficial relationship.

The partnership started by providing an enhancement of the Cisco IronPort Encryption Appliance (IEA). Cisco had announced end of life for the product, and ZixCorp worked with Cisco to develop an updated version of Cisco IEA with new hardware and software patches to protect against the latest security threats as customers were migrating to a new solution. Encryption capabilities, reporting and end user interaction with Cisco IEA remained the same to enable a seamless upgrade path for customers, and our companies were successful in pairing together to deliver the updated version on time in May 2015.

Today, we announced the second achievement of our partnership – the launch of ZixGateway with Cisco Technology (ZCT). Commercially available on October 23, 2015, ZCT integrates the industry-leading solution of Zix® Email Encryption with the trusted delivery method of Cisco Post X Envelope. On the surface, ZCT addresses a need for enterprises that require on-premises email encryption for the protection of their email data; of even greater consequence, it showcases the meeting of industry leaders in pursuit of better security.

We are among the first to successfully partner, and we hope that it’s only the start of a long trend. Because by coming together, our solutions and more importantly our customers are exponentially stronger.
