Join Us at the Esperanza 5K on Saturday, April 8

At Zix, we are excited to be the executive sponsor for the 7th annual Esperanza 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run — a fun family event that will be held on the morning of Saturday, April 8, 2017, in the heart of Plano. The Esperanza event supports families struggling with violence and extreme poverty in northern Mexico. It raises funds and awareness for a community center in Matamoras, Mexico, that supports pre-K education and healthcare for the medically fragile in a community who are in need and suffering from the tragic consequences of narco-violence.

The event provides the north Texas community with an opportunity to respond with hope and compassion to a situation that may leave many in despair.

Here are more details about the race:
  • The 5K is a USATF Certified Course.
  • It is a fast, flat route that is great for runners who want to set personal records, as well as beginners and families who want a fun activity for the morning
The Eggsperanza Festival, a side event to the 5K and fun run, begins at 9 a.m. and includes complimentary breakfast tacos, bounce houses, face painting, cascarones (confetti-filled eggs), a petting zoo, Easter egg hunt and a special visit from the Easter Bunny.

If you’d like to participate, register online here or register in person at:
  • March 26 & April 2: Fellowship Hall at Custer Road UMC from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • April 6 & 7: Luke’s Locker, The Shops at Legacy (Legacy and the Dallas North Tollway)
  • April 8: Custer Road UMC beginning at 7 a.m.
We look forward to seeing you at the race, and supporting our community on an important cause!
