ZixIt Corporation to Host Senate Republican High-Tech Task Force Senators to Tour Data Center for ZixMail(TM) Operations

DALLAS, Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- ZixIt Corporation (Nasdaq: ZIXI) today announced that the Senate Republican High-Tech Task Force has chosen to visit the company as part of its effort to highlight the growth of the U.S. high-tech industry and new legislation to nurture its expansion. United States Senators Phil Gramm and Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas, Jeff Sessions of Alabama, and Bill Frist of Tennessee are expected to outline the agenda for the task force and tour the company's world-class secure data center today. ZixIt will demonstrate how confidential email communications can be protected with ZixMail(TM), a secure messaging system based on ZixIt's Digital Signature and encryption technology.

"With technology playing such an important role in the emerging economy of the 21st century, we are delighted that these national leaders have chosen to visit our company and allow us to share our thoughts on the future of the industry," said David P. Cook, chairman and chief executive officer of ZixIt Corporation. "This is a unique opportunity for ZixIt, as a leader in the digital signature and encryption technology business, to demonstrate to our legislative leaders how a user-friendly implementation of advanced technology can contribute to solving some of the nation's concerns about privacy and security on the Internet."

The high-tech task force was established by Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott in May 1999. The task force's plans include patent law reform, allowing more visas for high-tech workers, setting aside funds to improve teacher training in high-tech disciplines and protecting America from cyber-terrorism.
