Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation
(FDIC) uses ZixConnect™ to communicate securely with the other financial regulators. ZixConnect allows the FDIC to communicate securely with their key business partners, including the other federal banking regulators. The supervising agencies of the financial industry recognized the huge benefit that ZixConnect delivers and we expect that many other financial institutions will turn to ZixCorp for simple, cost-effective security solutions. The FDIC insures deposits at the nation's 8,743 banks and savings associations and it promotes the safety and soundness of these institutions by identifying, monitoring and addressing risks to which they are exposed.

Office of the Comptroller of the Currency
(OCC), a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, uses ZixCorp’s Email Encryption Service. The OCC charters, regulates, and supervises national banks, federal branches, and agencies of foreign banks in the U.S., accounting for 55 percent of the nation’s banking assets. ZixVPM system-wide encryption enforces email privacy policies to ensure secure handling of confidential information including a built-in personal financial lexicon that automatically encrypts emails containing information mandated by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) as personally identifiable financial information — including financial identifiers (Social Security and account numbers), financial terms (e.g. balance transfer, refinance, etc.), and credit card numbers. ZixPort provides custom branding and encrypted messaging features to the OCC’s Web portal.

Office of Thrift Supervision
(OTS), a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, uses ZixCorp’s Email Encryption Service for 500 users. ZixCorp provides full-featured encryption functionality to the OTS so that end users can send private information such as billing records, sensitive client data, or financial statements to anyone whether they are a ZixCorp customer or not. ZixPort provides custom branding and encrypted messaging features to the OTS’s Web portal.

M&I Corporation
Marshall & Ilsley (M&I) Corporation is a financial services company with $56.2 billion in assets and banking offices in nine states. It has been using ZixCorp’s email encryption service for three years.

“As a company, we’ve talked a lot about why data protection is crucial from both the bank’s and our customers’ perspectives. The ZixCorp solution made it very easy for us to take advantage of email encryption because no training was required. And, as it’s virtually transparent for our customers, they’ve found it to be advantageous as well. M&I is committed to building trust with our customers and protecting their privacy. Email encryption complements the perception of our brand – solid and trusted.”

Scott Coghill, M&I’s Vice President, Information Security

SECU Credit Union
Founded in Baltimore in 1951, SECU is the largest state-chartered credit union in Maryland. It also serves members in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, DC. With assets of $1.6 billion as of June 2006, SECU has 243,000 members. The fact that the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) is a ZixCorp customer was a key factor in why SECU chose ZixCorp over its competitors.

“Because the NCUA is the federal agency that deals with compliance for all the credit unions in the country, we wanted to be on the same page. They’re using the ZixCorp service and we thought it would be a good idea to align ourselves with what they’re doing. Every email originating from SECU is encrypted with the ZixCorp solution if it contains personal data that could be compromised. We encrypt emails that contain a combination of confidential financial data, social security numbers, birth dates, names and addresses. SECU is trying to cover the bases for our members in terms of safeguarding their personal information and protecting them from identity theft.”

Mark Yu, SECU Credit Union’s Security Engineer

"With a continually increasing demand by customers and partners for information exchange via email, we have to be able to utilize that communication vehicle securely. Customer and bank information has to be protected. We had to give all email users the ability to send secure email so we needed a system that provided that capability and also monitors and tests emails to make sure no sensitive information is sent in the clear. We were impressed with the amount of testing and validation conducted on the financial lexicon to ensure its accuracy and I also value the logging and reporting capabilities."
Steve Milavec, senior vice president of information technology

  Suffolk County National Bank (SCNB)
"We were concerned about protecting the privacy of our customers, but we didn't want to require our email recipients to install any additional software to decrypt messages. ZixVPM's send-to-anyone capability solved that problem easily with no hassles," said for SCNB. "The fact that all our outgoing mail conforms with our security policies keeps us one step ahead of government regulations and shows our customers we care about confidentiality."
Mark Drozd, senior vice president, data processing

  First Indiana Bank
"Our clients trust us to protect their information, so it is extremely critical that we have this level of encryption protection against hackers and identity thieves," said for First Indiana. "ZixVPM provided everything we were looking for including invisibility to end users, and the option to brand our messages. Our choice to pick ZixCorp was easier because it was already selected for use by both the OCC and the OTS. Those were credible endorsements and a clear indicator of an effective, interoperable email security solution."
Ben Hartwell, technology services manager and information security officer

New York Bankers Association
"Bank security is a top priority for NYBA, and ZixCorp's encryption services prevent serious security breaches such as identity theft, and complement the security programs we offer our membership. Many factors made ZixCorp the right choice as an endorsed vendor, including its lexicon geared specifically to financial users and its roster of current clients, including the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency."
