Self-Paced Learning Tools
ZixCorp offers a variety of self-paced learning tools that can be accessed from the client Web site. These tools are designed for the person who is comfortable with using and learning new software applications on his or her own, and to serve as additional support for those who have completed a Web-based or on-site training session. Downloadable documents include User's Guides with Examples, Workbooks, Frequently Asked Questions, Hints and Tips, and quick reference sheets for selected functionalities. There are also Flash demos for the Dell™ Axim™ Pocket PC, the BlackBerry® Handheld Device, the PC version of PocketScript, and a recording of a prior Web-based training session for the Dell™ Axim™ Pocket PC.
Web-Based Training for Dell™ Axim™ Pocket PC
The Dell™ Axim™ Pocket PC is primarily used by the prescriber to electronically transmit or e-fax prescriptions to retail or mail-order pharmacies. Training is centered around teaching the prescriber how to write a script, fully utilize the decision-making support features, check for queued scripts, and monitor script activity.
This hosted session will also discuss office workflow integration, and close with a question-and-answer segment.
Web-Based Training for PC version of PocketScript
The PC version of PocketScript is run using the Internet Explorer Web browser, and is most often used by the non-prescribing staff within the office to support the prescriber. The staff most commonly uses this application to queue refill requests. When the office staff receives prescription refill requests from patients by phone, they have the ability to electronically 'queue' these refill requests for the physicians to approve. The medical assistant queues medication orders via the Internet Browser by selecting the patient and prescription to be refilled. The refill prescription requests are listed on the queued script screen until the physician approves or denies them on the handheld device or via the Internet Browser. With this electronic method, it is not necessary for the office to pull each patient's chart.
Prescribers can also use this application to electronically send prescriptions just as is done from the handheld device. This allows for the flexibility of access to e-prescribing anywhere there is Internet access. Training is centered around teaching the non-prescriber how to queue a script to the prescriber, monitor the queue, monitor script activity, utilize maintenance pages, and report functions.
This hosted session will also discuss office workflow integration, and close with a question and answer segment.
Telephone Training for BlackBerry® Handheld Device
The BlackBerry® Handheld Device is primarily used by the prescriber to electronically transmit or e-fax prescriptions to retail or mail-order pharmacies. Training is centered around teaching the prescriber how to write a script, fully utilize the decision-making support features, check for queued scripts, and monitor script activity.
This hosted session will also discuss office workflow integration, and close with a question-and-answer segment.
**A Web-based version of this program is currently in development, and will be available immediately upon completion.
On-Site Training for Dell™ Axim™ Pocket PC or BlackBerry® Handheld Device, and PC version of PocketScript
A trainer is available to conduct training sessions on-site. Any practice participating in the eRx Collaborative's program is automatically offered this option as part of the implementation process. The training sessions are customized to meet the needs of each practice, and include training on the selected handheld device, and PC version (Internet Browser) of PocketScript similar to what is described above in the Web-based training sessions. Discussion of office workflow integration, as well as follow support is also included in this program.
