Richard D. Spurr joined ZixCorp in January 2004 as President and Chief Operating Officer. In March 2005, he was promoted to his current position as Chief Executive Officer and, in February 2006, was voted Chairman of the Board. Mr. Spurr brings more than 35 years of global IT experience in building sales, marketing and operations departments in corporate, fast-growing environments. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales, Marketing & Business Development for Securify, Inc. Prior to joining Securify, Mr. Spurr assisted in the executive management of two start-ups, SEER Technologies, Inc. and Entrust, Inc. Under his leadership, both companies increased revenue more than eight-fold in three years, with revenue for Entrust, Inc. topping $148 million a year. From 1974 to 1990, Mr. Spurr worked for IBM where he was responsible for more than 1,000 employees as Regional Manager, as well as managed a $1.2 billion USD business throughout the Asia Pacific Region as Tokyo Group Director.Back to Top
Michael English joined ZixCorp in June 2007 and serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Prior to CFO, Mr. English served in many Company roles, including Controller and Treasurer. Mr. English is a certified public accountant and has more than 30 years of experience in finance and accounting. Before joining ZixCorp, Mr. English was Vice President of Finance for Advance Fibre Communications and Marconi, PLC. In addition, he served as Division Controller for the Access Division of RELTEC Corporation, Rockwell Automation and Reliance Electric Company. Mr. English earned a master's degree in accountancy from DePaul University and a bachelor's degree in English from John Carroll University.Back to Top
Geoff Bibby joined ZixCorp in September 2003 and serves as Vice President of Corporate Marketing. Mr. Bibby has more than 15 years of experience in high tech marketing. Prior to ZixCorp, he spent 6 years at Entrust Inc., an internet security vendor, where served in various management roles, including Marketing Director for Entrust European operations. Mr. Bibby earned a bachelor of commerce degree with honors in marketing from the University of Guelph in Guelph, ON, Canada.
James F. Brashear joined ZixCorp in February 2010 as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Mr. Brashear was most recently a partner at the law firm Haynes and Boone, LLP. Previously, he was Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Governance Officer at the global travel commerce company Sabre Holdings Corporation. He also served as a senior attorney for American Airlines and an associate at the law firms Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and O'Melveny & Myers. Mr. Brashear earned a juris doctorate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law and a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of California at San Diego. He is a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court, the State Bar of Texas and the California Bar Association.Back to Top
Steve Irons joined ZixCorp in September 2003 and serves as Vice President of Corporate Sales, Channels and Marketing. Mr. Irons is responsible for overall corporate sales, ZixCorp channel partners and marketing programs. He has been a successful sales leader in ZixCorp Email Encryption for several years and has more than 17 years of sales and sales management experience. Prior to ZixCorp, Mr. Irons spent 6 years at Elron Software, an internet security vendor. Prior to Elron, Mr. Irons managed a successful sales team at Progress Software Corporation. Nigel Johnson joined ZixCorp in April 2004 and serves as Vice President, Business Development & Product Management. He uses more than 20 years of IT security experience to develop ZixCorp’s OEM channel and set the development direction for the ZixCorp Email Encryption Service. Prior to joining ZixCorp, Mr. Johnson held senior management positions at Entrust Inc., including Vice President, Product Management and Vice President, Business Development. He previously worked at Nortel, where he developed classified military communications security systems and received many awards and a patent for his work. Mr. Johnson earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Carleton University in Ottawa, ON, Canada.Back to Top
William J. Kadonsky joined ZixCorp in March 2004 and serves as Vice President, Business Operations. Mr. Kadonsky is responsible for the company’s sales operations and sales support teams, business processing units and the ZixResearch CenterSM. He focuses on improving organizational efficiency and expanding ZixCorp's revenue generation capability. Prior to ZixCorp, he served as Vice President and General Manager of Entrust@YourService, a PKI managed services business unit of Entrust, Inc. Mr. Kadonsky was previously President of Practical Software Solutions, Inc., a technology and management consulting firm. He also served as an analyst at the National Security Agency and holds a CISSP security certification. Mr. Kadonsky earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin.Back to Top
Jim Lesniak joined ZixCorp in March 2004 and serves as Vice President, Sales & Marketing for Email Encryption. Mr. Lesniak is responsible for national sales and marketing of email encryption and content filtering solutions in the healthcare, financial, government and insurance verticals. In addition, he is responsible for market expansion opportunities across industries and growth through channel sales partnerships with referral partners, value-added resellers and managed service providers. He brings more than 20 years of experience in sales and management with technology companies, including 15 years with IBM and roles with Entrust Inc., Credant Technologies and Securify. Russell J. Morgan has served as our Vice President, Client Services since September 2002. From February 1997 until August 2002, he worked at Entrust, Inc. (information technology security) where he held a variety of senior management positions, including director, professional services and senior director, Entrust.net. At Entrust, he founded the professional services organization and then managed the business and technical operations for the Entrust.net business unit. Previously, he held several management positions at Lockheed Martin (aerospace), where he specialized in secure messaging and military command and control systems. Mr. Morgan is a professional engineer with 30 years experience in managing, delivering and supporting complex customer-focused technology solutions. Mr. Morgan holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.Back to Top
David J. Robertson joined ZixCorp in March 2002 and serves as Vice President, Engineering. Mr. Robertson has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and Internet industries, with specific expertise in network architecture, security and protocols, PBX and Key System design in circuit and packet environments, and broadband and cellular access systems. He has also worked extensively in product areas involving 802.11, DECT and other unlicensed wireless access standards. Mr. Robertson has contributed to the early stages of Telecommunications Standards’ definition for the Unlicensed Wireless Industry in the U.S. and Canada and the finalization of the ADSI standard for enhanced telecommunications carrier service deployment. He participated in pioneering efforts toward end-to-end voice quality standards for Quality of Service in many wireline and wireless domains. He is a member of multiple company advisory boards and serves with the city of Richardson Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Robertson earned a master’s degree in electronics engineering from Carleton University in Ottawa, ON, Canada and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo.Back to Top

Mark J. Bonney joined ZixCorp's Board of Directors in January 2013. He is currently president and CEO of On Board Advisors, LLC, a strategic and financial advisory firm. Mr. Bonney also serves as chairman of the board of the Community Health Center, Inc. and as a director of MRV Communications, Inc. and Sigma Designs, Inc. He was executive vice president and CFO of Direct Brands, Inc. from 2010 to 2012, vice president and the general manager of the Authentication Solutions Group of JDS Uniphase Corporation (JDSU) from 2008 to 2010 and executive vice president and CFO of American Bank Note Holographics, Inc. from 2005 to 2008, before the company's sale to JDSU. Mr. Bonney has also held executive roles with technology companies, including president and COO of Axsys Technologies, Inc. from 1999 to 2002 and CFO of Zygo Corporation from 1993 to 1999. Michael E. Dailey joined ZixCorp’s Board of Directors in January 2013. He is currently chief operating officer and vice president of Worldwide Sales for Optica Technologies Incorporated, a leading provider of enterprise connectivity solutions to the mainframe market. Mr. Dailey was a vice president at Right90 Inc., a Software-as-Service (SaaS) based Enterprise Sales Forecasting solution for high tech manufacturers from 2005 to 2007. Mr. Dailey served as vice president of Sales- Americas and vice president of Global Account Sales for McData Corporation, now part of Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. from 2001 to 2005. Mr. Dailey began his career at IBM Corporation and during his 13-years Mr. Dailey held a variety of executive positions in sales, product marketing, and strategy. He also served as Director of Sales Operations for IBM Americas’ multi-billion dollar Server Group. Mr. Dailey earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the College of the Holy Cross.Back to Top
Taher A. Elgamal was elected to ZixCorp's Board of Directors in July 2011. Dr. Elgamal currently serves as CTO Security at Salesforce.com. He is also co-founder and Chairman of IdentityMind, Inc. and serves as a director of Intelligent Fiber Optic Systems Corporation and Vindicia, Inc. Dr. Elgamal has also held executive roles at technology and security companies, including as CEO of First Information Security from 2012 to 2013, CSO of Axway, Inc. from 2008 to 2011, CTO of Tumbleweed Communications from 2006 to 2008, CTO of Securify, Inc. from 2001 to 2004, CEO and president of Securify, Inc. from 1998 to 2001 and chief scientist of Netscape Communications from 1995 to 1998. Dr. Elgamal is a recipient of the RSA Conference 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award, and he is recognized as the "father of SSL," the Internet security standard Secure Sockets Layer. Dr. Elgamal was issued several patents in online security, payments and data compression. He received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Cairo University, a master's degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University and a doctorate in electrical engineering from Stanford University.Back to Top
Robert C. Hausmann was elected to ZixCorp's Board of Directors in November 2005 and was elected Lead Independent Director in December 2012. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer of TetraSun, a solar cell R&D and Manufacturing company. Formerly, Mr. Hausmann was a consultant to public and private companies with respect to operational and financial management matters, including Sarbanes-Oxley and systems and process re-engineering. He also served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Securify, Inc. from September 2002 through June 2005. From September 1999 through September 2002, Mr. Hausmann served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Resonate, Inc. and helped manage the company's initial public offering. Prior to these positions, he served as Operations Partner and Chief Financial Officer of Mohr, Davidow Ventures, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital partnership. Mr. Hausmann earned a master's in business administration from Santa Clara University and a bachelor's degree in finance and accounting from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota.Back to Top
Maribess L. Miller was elected to ZixCorp’s Board of Directors in April 2010. Ms. Miller was a member of the public accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers from 1975 until 2009, including serving as the North Texas Market Managing Partner from 2001 until 2009; as Southwest Region Consumer, Industrial Products and Services Leader from 1998 until 2001; and as Managing Partner of that firm’s U.S. Healthcare Audit Practice from 1995 to 1998. She was appointed in 2009 by Governor Rick Perry to the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy and serves on the behavioral enforcement and rules committees. She is past Board Chair for the Texas Health Institute, where she remains a member of the board. Ms. Miller also serves on the boards of the TCU Neeley School of Business and the North Texas Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors and on the advisory board of Rolland Safe Company. She graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas Christian University. Ms. Miller is a certified public accountant.Back to Top
Antonio R. Sanchez III was elected to our Board in May 2003. He has served since 2011 as president and chief executive officer of Sanchez Energy Corporation, an oil and gas production company traded on the New York Stock Exchange. Since 2001, he has served as president of Sanchez Oil & Gas Corporation (oil and gas production) and as president of SEP Management I, LLC (oil and gas production). From 1999 through 2001, he worked in a variety of positions at Zix Corporation, including sales and marketing, product development and investor relations. From 1997 through 1999, he was an investment banker specializing in mergers and acquisitions with JP Morgan Securities Inc. (financial services). He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Georgetown University with a concentration on Accounting and Finance and a minor in Economics.
